Tax preparation for Cypress families, contractors and small businesses
Cypress has grown into a place full of young families, new master-planned neighborhoods and people who work for themselves — electricians, remodelers, lawn-care crews, realtors, cleaning crews. That mix is exactly what we do: family returns with credits checked properly, 1099 income reported the right way, and help turning a side job into a registered business. Our office is down US-290 and Beltway 8 in west Houston, or we can work with you entirely online.

What we see most from Cypress
Contractors and trades paid on a 1099
When no one withholds tax from your pay, self-employment tax and quarterly estimated payments (Form 1040-ES) become your job. We report your 1099-NEC income with the expenses you can back up — tools, materials, mileage, phone — and show you what to set aside next year.
Tax PreparationMore than one property tax bill
Many Cypress neighborhoods sit inside a MUD (municipal utility district), and MUDs often bill separately from the county. If itemizing could help you, bring every property tax statement you paid during the year, not just the first one.
A DBA or an LLC?
Cypress is unincorporated Harris County, so a sole proprietor using a business name files an assumed name certificate (DBA) with the Harris County Clerk. An LLC is filed with the Texas Secretary of State instead. We explain the difference and handle the LLC filing and EIN for you.

Questions from Cypress clients
How far is your office from Cypress?
About 22 miles. Take US-290 southeast to Beltway 8 and go south past I-10 to 1250 W Sam Houston Pkwy S. If you would rather not drive, we can do the entire return virtually.
I am a contractor paid on a 1099. What should I bring?
Every 1099-NEC or 1099-K you received, a record of any income that did not come with a form, receipts or bank statements for business expenses, your mileage log, and any estimated payments you made during the year.
Where do I register a business name in Cypress?
A sole proprietor files an assumed name certificate with the Harris County Clerk. An LLC or corporation registers with the Texas Secretary of State, and can file its own assumed name there. We prepare the LLC filing and the EIN application with the IRS.
Do I need to pay estimated taxes every quarter?
If you expect to owe $1,000 or more when you file and nothing is withheld from your income, the IRS generally expects quarterly payments. We calculate an amount based on your last return and your current income.
