Tax preparation and business services for Katy, TX
Katy households file with us for the same reasons: a growing family, a first or second house, a paycheck from the Energy Corridor and, often, a small business on the side. Our office is in west Houston, straight down I-10 or the Westpark Tollway. If the drive is not worth it, the whole return can be done virtually — you upload documents, we review them with you by phone or video, and we e-file.

What Katy clients usually need
Three counties, one federal return
Katy spreads across Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties, so your property tax statement may come from a different office than your neighbor’s. Texas has no state income tax, so the return itself is federal — bring whichever county statement you received and we use it if itemizing is worth it for you.
The first tax year in a new house
Mortgage interest (Form 1098), points paid at closing and property taxes can change whether you itemize. We run both the standard deduction and itemized versions and file the one that leaves you better off.
Kids, daycare and college
Child tax credits, the credit for daycare and after-school care (Form 2441) and education credits from a 1098-T all depend on details. We check each one against your documents instead of assuming.
Tax PreparationA business run from home
Consulting, a home bakery, an online store: we report it on Schedule C, help you decide if an LLC makes sense, and can take over the bookkeeping so next year is easier.

Questions from Katy clients
Do you have an office in Katy?
No. Our only office is in west Houston at 1250 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, about 18 miles east of central Katy by I-10. Many Katy clients never make the drive: the whole return can be done virtually.
My Katy home is in Fort Bend or Waller County. Does that change my taxes?
Not your federal return. What changes is which appraisal district values your home and which tax office sends the property tax bill. Bring that statement; if you itemize, the property tax you paid goes on your return.
I have a W-2 job and a small business on the side. Can you do both?
Yes. The W-2 income and the business income go on the same Form 1040, with the business on Schedule C. Bring your income records and your expenses for the year, and we will tell you what else is missing.
Can I do everything online from Katy?
Yes. You share documents securely, we go over the return with you by phone or video before anything is filed, and we e-file it. You can still come to the office any time you would rather sit down in person.
